CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – Governor Ron DeSantis has signed the 2025–2026 state budget, officially approving a $1.75 million appropriation to support workforce development efforts in Charlotte County. The funds will establish the Southwest Florida Advanced Manufacturing Training Center, a regional hub for education and job training in aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

The initiative will deliver hands-on training and industry-recognized credentials to students and adult learners, building a skilled talent pipeline to meet the demands of Southwest Florida’s growing industrial sector. The new training facility will be located within the Enterprise Charlotte Airport Park (ECAP) at Punta Gorda Airport, providing accessible programming that supports economic development and job creation across the region.
